A novel Facebook Messenger experience

James Patterson is one of the biggest authors in the world has led with a new medium for enjoying his work: Facebook Messenger: A “digital novel experience” based on his forthcoming book The Chef.

Users can search for “The Chef” in the app, which will bring up the story. From there, they can begin reading, while also interacting with the characters and locations with videos and sound clips that tie into the story.

Facebook will also supplement the story with live Q&A sessions with Patterson, and it will launch Instagram profiles for the main characters.

LinkedIn reveals Objective-Based Advertising via Campaign Manager

LinkedIn Marketing Solutions announced the beta-release of objective-based advertising in their Campaign Manager tool.

Group product manager Nikin Julka said in a blog post that the new experience will be available to all LinkedIn advertisers starting Nov. 14, describing it as a “complete overhaul” of Campaign Manager and saying that it will “lay the groundwork for objective-based optimization and pricing to come mid-2019.”
